Comedy Central ran the “Night of Too Many Stars” benefit on October 22, and Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell turned up to sing a song that “captured the zeitgeist” — with lots of dated cultural references.
An ode to Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who landed a US Airways flight in the Hudson River in January of 2009, the tune contains shout-outs to Sanjaya, Myspace, Crocs, Joe the Plumber, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” the stiumulus plan… the list goes on.
