Disney’s latest original TV movie, “Avalon High,” stars “Life Unexpected’s” Britt Robertson as Allie, a new girl in town who has a sneaking suspicion that the kids at her new school are actually reincarnations of members of King Arthur’s Court.
Though Allie and Robertson’s “Life Unexpected” character Lux seem extremely different on a surface level, Robertson tells Zap2it that they’re more alike than you might think. “She’s a pretty average chick. She does a lot of traveling with her parents,” she says. “She’s just a fun, feisty, outgoing girl. But she hasn’t really had a lot of stability as far as far as life and social situations go, so in that sense she’s a lot like Lux.”
Allie quickly makes friends at school, which Robertson says is “not very Lux-like.” She’s working on a term paper about the legacy of King Arthur, and the more time she spends with her new crowd, the more parallels she draws between them and the Knights of the Round Table.
“It’s just full of action, and there’s a little romance,” she says. “There are all these elements of action and mystery that come into play, that with ‘Life Unexpected,’ I wasn’t exactly used to.”
The action comes in when Mordred, the famed traitor of Camelot, returns. It’s up to Allie and her friends — including super-cute quarterback Will (Gregg Sulkin) — to stop Mordred from winning and history from repeating.
“I had so much fun shooting it,” Robertson says. “It’s a Disney movie! It was a blast.”
