ABC has finally set a premiere date for its series “Body of Proof.” Viewers in the United States can see it in late March — but if you happen to be in Europe before then, you might be able to catch it there.
ABC will debut the show, which stars Dana Delany as a neurosurgeon-turned-medical examiner, on March 29. It will air in the 10 p.m. Tuesday slot currently occupied by “Detroit 1-8-7,” which will have completed its 18-episode season by then. That’s a pretty big timeslot upgrade from the Friday-night spot the network had initially set for the show; it will have the “Dancing With the Stars” results show as a lead-in.
Having the “DWTS” results as a lead-in doesn’t guarantee big ratings — “Detroit 1-8-7” is pulling only middling numbers this fall — but it’s still a heck of a lot better than, say, “Supernanny.”
In a somewhat unusual move, “Body of Proof” will premiere overseas before it makes its stateside debut. Producer ABC Studios has sold the show to broadcasters in Italy, Spain and Hungary, where it will premiere in January and February. The earlier release is partly intended to combat piracy, Variety reports.
