The USA network’s slogan is “Characters Welcome” — and they don’t discriminate when it comes to that open-door policy. “Covert Affairs” star Sendhil Ramamurthy is taking a stand in a brand new anti-Hate Crimes public service announcement demanding that people promote love and understanding instead of violence and intolerance.
“We can’t give up,” Ramamurthy insists in the video. “We have to educate, we have to inform, and we have to stop the hate. Not next week, not tomorrow. Today.”
You can go to charactersunite.com to take a stand against hate yourself. By taking the pledge, you’re making a difference — USA will donate $1 for everyone who takes the pledge to their partners, including the Anti-Defamation League and the Human Rights Campaign.
There’s another way you can help! “On Monday, November 29th, in support of Characters Unite, we are encouraging everyone to participate in our Characters Unite profile takeover,” says the network. “Donate your Facebook or Twitter profile to our cause and let all of your Friends, Fans, and Followers know that you support a tolerant, more understanding USA. We will have more information for you about the profile takeover as the 29th approaches.”
We’re in! Are you? Remember, every pledge makes a direct difference, so be sure to tell your friends!
