Why do we love seeing “Top Chef” contestants doing prep?
On Wednesday’s (Dec. 15) episode “New York’s Finest,” we see the chef’testants break up into teams for the Quickfire, which is a prep relay.
It looks a little different this time though because it seems everyone’s working at the same time. Marcel is going to town on the lamb, Casey is glad not to be dicing onions and Fabio has a clever strategy to deal with the 500 garlic cloves he needs to peel.
The judge is Momofuku Noodle Bar’s David Chang, but later, we see the chefs putting together a dinner at Michael White’s Marea.
Every time we hear Carla even whisper “sous vide,” we want to scream, “Nooo!” and remove her from Casey’s sphere of influence.
