It’s official. Tripp is no longer the only boy in Bristol Palin‘s life.
People reports that the Anchorage radio hosts pressured Palin into addressing the rumored relationship — suggesting she say, “Yeah, you know what, I’m seeing a guy and he’s really great and Tripp loves him and we’re having a really good time and we’re really good friends.”
That’s not exactly the response they got, but the 20-year-old did say, “Yeah, we can go with that. I’m thrilled.”
She then continues, “I love the town that I live in. I love my house. Tripp’s happy; he’s healthy,” in reference to her recently purchased five-bedroom home in Maricopa, AZ.
Palin also addresses those pesky name change rumors, stemming from a Facebook post in which she wrote “Tripp Easton Mitchell Palin… PALIN!!!”
She admits that it’s a change she’s been hoping for, but isn’t sure it will ever happen.
“I’ve asked Levi [Johnston] to do it many different times, just get it out of the way,” she says. “Just sign over his parental rights, but I don’t know if he will or if he wants to right now,” adding that she’s willing to forgo any child support in order to keep full custody of their son.
Palin explains how she’s broached the subject with her former fiance, saying “‘Let’s just avoid this custody case that’s been ongoing since Tripp was born. He’s always going to be your son, you can see him whenever you want to,’ but he just doesn’t want to sign him over because it looks bad on paper.”
For now, Tripp remains a Johnston, but we wouldn’t be totally shocked if Palin gets her way in the near future.
