buffy finale Sarah Michelle Gellar set to star in CBS pilot, 'Ringer'Just as god rested after creating the world, Sarah Michelle Gellar has been taking it relatively easy on the TV-front since the 2003 end of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

But that may soon change.

Vulture reports that CBS has given a pilot order for “Ringer,” a thriller with the 33-year-old actress set to star.

The series follows a young woman on the run from the mob, who tries to lay low by pretending to be her wealthy twin sister — only to realize that she too has a price on her head. A little convoluted? Yes. But does it really matter when you’re talking about a series that would star two Sarah Michelle Gellars? Not in the least.

Gellar serves as co-executive producer on the project, which was created by “Supernatural” scribes Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder.

Though she’s mostly focused on film work — and motherhood — since departing the tube almost eight years ago, Gellar did star in an unsuccessful pilot for HBO in 2008, “The Wonderful Maladys.”
