CBS drama “The Good Wife” is continuing its streak of amazing guest stars. The most recent episode saw Leelee Sobieski as an accused murderer, Michael J. Fox is returning and the show is known for its judge-of-the-week guest casting. Now we have a couple more names to add to the roster.
According to EW, “Ugly Betty’s” America Ferrera is joining the cast as Natalie, a graduate student who catches the eye of Eli Gold. She’ll be featured in a three-episode arc starting during February sweeps.
The same episode will see comedian Jerry Stiller (“Seinfeld,” Ben Stiller’s father) as a judge, putting him in the ranks with Ana Gasteyer, David Paymer, Joanna Gleason and Peter Gerety. Stiller’s judge, who has a touch of narcolepsy, will face off with Diane Lockhart.
Co-creator Robert King tells EW, “It’s thrilling to have two actors who combine such dramatic and comedic ability. We’ve been watching and loving America for years now on “Ugly Betty,”
and it’ll be fantastic to see her take on a completely different role —
especially one that puts her across from Alan Cumming. And Jerry
Stiller is our dream judge. It was great when we got to stop saying ‘We
need a Jerry Stiller-type in the role’ and just got Jerry Stiller.”
We have complete faith they’ll both be great. “The Good Wife” airs Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
