Multi-talented musician will.i.am (you know, the Black Eyed Pea whose name we know that isn’t Fergie) has a new gig to add to his resume: He’s just signed on as “Director of Creative Innovation” for computer chip-maker Intel.
Does this mean funkier chips, perhaps with backups by Akon? Probably not.
“It’s imperative that Intel and our innovations are kept in front of the global youth culture that embraces new devices and new forms of communication and entertainment,” said Intel spokesperson Deborah Conrad said in a statement to Business Week.
The Grammy Award-winning musician has reportedly signed on for a multi-year “hands on creative and technology collaboration.”
Intel didn’t provide any specific details about the Black Eyed Pea’s involvement, but he was issued a badge and introduced at the company’s Anaheim, California headquarters on Tuesday.
will.i.am wasn’t much more forthcoming in his own tweeted announcement:
Its official. I just became the Director of Creative Innovation for intel. every beat I make is made with intel. And now were partners.
