On Thursday (Feb. 3), fashion designer Kenneth Cole made the big mistake of tweeting, “Millions in uproar in #Cairo. Rumor is they heard our new spring collection is now available online at http://bit.ly/KCairo -KC.”
The reaction was swift and disgruntled, prompting Cole to later remove the offending tweet and issue an apology on both on Twitter and Facebook. But naturally, that was not the end of it, as someone has started the KennethColePR twitter account, which has been tweeting:
- Twitterverse: Off to Chinatown elementary school for recruiting event, that spring line won’t sew itself! #KennethColeTweets
- Locked in Charlie Sheen’s closet? Tweet how many pairs of Coles he has! #KennethColeTweets
- Ready to hang yourself ‘cuz of dad’s ponzi scheme? You won’t be able to resist our croc-skin belts. #KennethColeTweets
We wonder how long the account will continue to tweet politically incorrect fashion bon mots? Either way, this is just one of many reasons we love Twitter. Not only does it help celebrities look silly, but it gives us a whole new medium in which to poke fun at them for it.
