Lady Gaga‘s much-hyped new single, “Born This Way,” is finally here! Gaga released the track early Friday morning after a hasty announcement earlier this week, which she made via Twitter: “Can’t wait any longer, single coming Friday. ?” It’s the lead single and title song off Gaga’s upcoming sophomore album, scheduled for a May 23 release.
The song, undeniably written with the intent to be the next gay nightclub anthem, has already attracted some controversy because it uses the words “chola” and “orient.” Some critics have slammed it for being a bit preachy and heavy-handed, but we know one thing for sure… it’s danceable. The most immediate comparison we’d make is to Madonna’s “Express Yourself.”
We can’t wait to see her first performance of this one, that’s for sure. Listen to the song below, and if you like it, pick up a copy of your own on iTunes. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section. Is this going to get you dancing? More importantly, is it going to get you to buy the album?
