If “Friday” is a joke, then it is most certainly on us, because we just wasted 3 minutes and 48 seconds of our admittedly awesome life enduring the most awful music video ever created.
A slow burn over the weekend, the debut music video from Rebecca Black reached viral status Monday, Mar. 14, nearing 3 million views on YouTube.
Now, what exactly makes “Friday” so heinous… Is it the presumably empty promises fed to this poor girl by distributing label Ark Music Factory? Is it the mindless, repetitive lyrics that contain an obsessive-compulsive preoccupation with both the days of the week and deciding where to sit in a car? Or maybe it’s the low-budget, seizure-inducing visuals implored during the bridge?
No, it’s the fact that somewhere, there are more than a few people who put this together thinking it wasn’t a crime against man, culture and possibly god.
Here’s “Friday,” for those of you who haven’t seen it… and don’t mind the prospect of dying seven days from now when a mud-caked Rebecca Black crawls out of a well to claim your soul:
