While rumors of Allison Mack‘s return to “Smallville” for its series finale have brewed throughout the season, TVLine has finally confirmed that Mack was, indeed, on set as Chloe Sullivan to shoot scenes for the two-hour May 13 finale.
Chloe fans will be pleased to hear that “Fortune” wasn’t the last we’ve seen of her. At the end of her last episode, we discovered that she and Oliver (Justin Hartley) had sealed the deal — so what if they don’t actually remember getting the marriage certificate?
Chloe had accepted a job in Star City, and she made her gallant exit after assuring Clark (Tom Welling) that he wasn’t alone. Her mentions of a “wondrous woman” and a “billionaire gadgeteer” had comic fans squeeing.
Though the storyline provided some closure, we weren’t quite satisfied, so we’re thrilled to hear that along with Michael Rosenbaum, she’ll be back for that last epic episode.
Recently, Kristin Kreuk, who played Lana Lang in the first 8 seasons of the show, explained that while she hadn’t received an official offer to return, she felt Lana’s story was complete. “I think her story is done,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “I am not sure how her coming back changes Clark’s story any longer. He has moved forward. As he was always supposed to do. As Lana would have wanted him to do.”
