snoop arrest 'The Wire's' Snoop arrested in real drug raidFelicia “Snoop” Pearson, the real life drug dealer turned actress who basically played a more lethal version of herself on HBO’s “The Wire,” was arrested on Thursday (March 10) in a Baltimore drug raid.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Pearson was picked up in a sweeping raid that ended up with 60 arrests. Pearson was reportedly picked up in a downtown Baltimore apartment on a state warrant, officials told the Sun.

Pearson had survived a difficult childhood on the streets of Baltimore by allying herself with drug-slinging street gangs and was sentenced to eight years in prison in 1996 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Then, things took a turn for the better when she was discovered in a Baltimore bar by “Wire” actor Michael K. Williams.

She chronicled her path to a better, drug-free life in the 2007 book “Grace After Midnight” and even made a guest appearance on Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” when the epicure visited Charm City. According to IMDB.com, Pearson is also involved in “Criminal Empire for Dummy’s,” a Gary Oldman-fronted movie due sometime this year.
