Blink-182 fans in the U.K. will have to wait one more year to see the band on stage again.
]]>announced on their website Monday morning (Apr. 18) that they
will be rescheduling their European Summer tour in order to complete
their next album. Cancellations include the Oxegen and T in the Park
festivals, as well as several dates throughout the U.K., Germany, the
Czech Republic, Italy and Luxembourg.
The band has already rescheduled several dates for the Summer of 2012, with a few additions and cancellations thrown in the mix.
“When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have
the new album out before the Summer,” Mark, Tom and Travis explain.
“Turns out we were mistaken as the album is taking longer than we
thought and won’t be out till later this year.
“We hoped we would have some new songs to play rather than
do another ‘Greatest Hits Tour’ which you all saw last Summer,” they continue. “As much
as we know our fans would be cool with that, we feel that we owe you
guys something new when you spend your money to come see us.”
We can respect their reasoning, though we’re sure fans are bummed about being forced to wait a full year for the live shows.
