It’s official. James Franco is the new Van Wilder. Seriously, he’s never leaving college.
The actor has been accepted in to the University of Houston’s Creative Writing Program. In the CWP’s newsletter which lists incoming students, Franco’s name is listed and the Program has confirmed the news, reports The Houston Press. Here’s their statement:
“James Franco was scheduled to enter the Ph.D program in Literature and Creative Writing in Fall 2011, but he requested a deferral for an additional year, which the faculty granted, so he is now scheduled to begin doctoral work here in Fall 2012.”
So there you have it, Franco-philes. Prepare to start calling your favorite actor Dr. Franco. We really hope some of the students at UH will follow in Columbia’s footsteps and snap pictures of the actor when he falls asleep in class. Yes, this was just an excuse to post this picture:
