It isn’t the unlikeliest pairing in the world. After all, Mark Wahlberg has some idea of what it’s like to be a teen idol and Justin Bieber has probably seen “Boogie Nights.” Or maybe “The Perfect Storm.” “The Fighter?”
In any case, Wahlberg — in an interview with New York magazine — admitted that he and the teen singing sensation will in fact be making a movie together.
“Yeah, Justin Bieber and I are going to do a movie together,” said Wahlberg.
When questioned about the veracity of that statement (we get it), the former Funky Bunch-er replied, “Yeah. We’re doing it at Paramount. We pitched them the idea and, you know, we’re talking about doing it.”
Wahlberg wasn’t forthcoming with many details. Only adding that the movie might tell the story of “a reluctant mentor in an inner-city environment.”
Our spin: Bieber as the mentor! Cinematic gold.
Anyway, good on you, Mark Wahlberg, for not being afraid to work with the Bieb. Say hello to your mother for me.
