Pretty much, yes. The Pittsburgh Steelers wideout was assigned a quickstep for his judges’ choice dance and got some footwork advice from Len Goodman beforehand. Hines and partner Kym Johnson (still wearing a neck brace in rehearsals, by the way) showed big improvement over their previous quickstep, scoring a 29 out of 30 from the judges. Len gave the lone 9 but noted the strides Hines has made.
Hines and Kym’s freestyle was done to a song from “Drumline,” and he was dressed like a drum major. Despite the slightly goofy outfit, though, he and Kym nailed the dance, earning a perfect score and tying Chelsea Kane for the lead at the end of the hour. “That wasn’t just a halftime show, that was the whole damn Super Bowl!” Carrie Ann Inaba gushed.

So what do you think? Is Hines still the man to beat?
