urx unit loader Joplin Tornado victims receive aid from TLC's Duggar family
Duggars.jpgTLC’s resident over sized brood is doing their part for victims of the devastating Joplin, Mo. tornado.

]]>The Duggars, of the hit reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” live approximately 75 miles from the disaster area, according to People. After hearing the news, the brood jumped to action immediately. They packed three cars with water, Gatorade and dried food, arriving on the scene and ready to help at 11 p.m. Sunday evening.   Eldest son, Josh, has worked as a volunteer firefighter, while John, Jana and Jill are all certified first responders and current volunteer firefighters. They were aided by dad, Jim Bob and teenage siblings Jessa, Jinger, Joseph and Josiah. While the younger Duggars handed out supplies, the ones with rescue experience hit the streets. “We worked five different streets, looking for survivors,” Josh says. “It was somber and serious because there weren’t many people we found.” He adds, “People are overwhelmed, but they are seeing rescuers come from miles away and they need to see that. It gives them hope. For a lot of families it is going to be a tragedy they will live with forever. We were just a small part of helping.” “19 Kids and Counting” returns to TLC on June 7.
