They tried to boo Amy off stage and she said no, no, no…
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has canceled part of her European tour after she was heavily booed on stage during a concert in Serbia for being over an hour late and displaying erratic behavior (she struggled to remember lyrics and occasionally disappeared).
The concert, which was held in Belgrade, was meant to kick off a 12-date tour of Europe. After her less than pleasant reception, Winehouse canceled concerts in Istanbul and Athens. Her rep says it will be “worked out as soon as possible” whether or not she will perform the rest of the tour.
The statement says Winehouse feels canceling the concerts was “the right thing to do.” “Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she can not perform to the best of her ability and will return home.”
Winehouse checked into a rehab program in late May only to leave one week later. At the time, a representative for the British singer said she’d continue treatment as
an outpatient, but it wouldn’t interfere with her Summer tour.
