Several reporters present on “The Voice” red carpet after Wednesday’s finale show noted that when asked about the possibility of participating in Season 2, Christina Aguilera stayed quiet — and even walked away.
However, THR says that Aguilera signed on for a second season weeks ago. It comes as little surprise — Aguilera pockets $225,000 per episode, while her fellow coaches, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Cee-Lo Green, make $75,000 each show.
Levine also mentioned that he hopes to return to the show. We’re guessing that any hold-outs will relate mostly to scheduling; for artists whose careers are still in full-swing, a weekly television show can put a damper on other projects. Green was scheduled to tour with Rihanna this spring but was forced to bow out of the show when his schedule for “The Voice” became more demanding than he had expected.
The format of “The Voice” makes changes to the panel of coaches easy and even intriguing, giving producers the power to explore new chemistry and combinations every year. What current artists do you think would fare well on the show? Who would you like to see in those big red chairs for Season 2? Weigh in below in the comments section.
