America’s wacky Grandma, Betty White, has another title to add to her award-winning career — “Most Trusted Personality.”
In a Reuters/Ipsos poll, the 89-year-old “Hot in Cleveland” star beat out Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Morgan Freeman and Kate Middleton for the honor, scoring a 69 percent trustworthiness rating. She also came out on top in terms of popularity, with 86 percent of those polled having a favorable opinion of her.
White, whose career in Hollywood dates back 60 years, burst back onto the scene following her appearance at the 2006 William Shatner roast. Since then the one-time “Golden Girl” has been in as active as anyone, starring in commercials, TV and film. She is currently up for an Emmy for her role as Elka Ostrovsky, the Polish caretaker on the TV Land series.
The survey polled 2,012 Americans; here’s a link to the full survey results.
