Hopefully this one isn’t a “sad silly fool” like the last one.
It appears Charlie Sheen’s new show, the TV adaptation of the movie “Anger Management,” is circling in on a showrunner. The leading candidate is Bruce Helford, the creator of “The Drew Carey Show” according to Deadline.com.
Helford has a long, successful history in television comedy having served as EP on “Roseanne” and creating “George Lopez.” The show will be produced by Joe Roth and Lionsgate TV. Lionsgate’s distribution arm, Debmar-Mercury, is looking for potential networks for the show.
Sheen can’t wait to get going on the project.
He previously said he signed up with the show, “Because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept.”
Sheen got booted from the hit comedy “Two and a Half Men” after going on a tirade against the show’s EP Chuck Lorre.
