It’s Jennifer Lawrence‘s birthday Monday (Aug. 15) and we cannot believe she’s only 21 years old. So all before she was old enough to drink, she starred in a reboot of a superhero franchise that garnered good reviews (“X-Men”), got cast as the lead in what is sure to be the next big movie franchise (“The Hunger Games”) and earned an Oscar nomination for her work in “Winter’s Bone.” Not too shabby.
The 5’7 native of Louisville, Kentucky was a former cheerleader and played field hockey and softball before she was discovered in New York City. She has two older brothers and is the second-youngest actress ever to be nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award.
In 2012, in addition to “The Hunger Games,” you can see Jennifer as Elisabeth Shue’s daughter in the thriller “House at the End of the Street.” When they find out the house next door was recently the scene of a grisly double murder, Jennifer’s character befriends the boy who survived that night and learns the story is far from over.
Happy Birthday, Jennifer!
