Katie Holmes is full of new and exciting things right now, it would appear. U.K. paper the Daily Mail is reporting that Holmes was spotted with a new henna tattoo on her wrist, which they speculate is inspired by her friend Victoria Beckham‘s tattoo on her write that is a tribute to her marriage to soccer player David Beckham.
Holmes’ new pseudo-ink is two chains running around her left wrist. Reportedly husband Tom Cruise was not a fan of her getting permanent ink, so perhaps that is why she settled on henna.
And in movie news, Katie’s new horror thriller “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” opens Friday night (Aug. 26). What have the critics been saying about Ms. Holmes?
The Los Angeles Times’ Betsy Sharkey says, “Holmes is there for a little eye candy and a little stepmothering (the
good, not the evil, kind), but frankly, she’s usually more arresting in
celebrity magazines than she is on-screen.”
Jeanette Catsoulis of the New York Times writes, “A terrified Katie Holmes looks not that different from the everyday version.”
But Salon’s Andrew O’Hehir says, “Holmes — whose acting is often overwhelmed by her Mrs. Tom Cruise fame
— delivers a sensitive performance as Kim gradually builds a tender,
hesitant rapport with Sally.”
