Bravo on Wednesday (Aug. 31) announced it plans to stick with a Sept. 5 premiere for “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” despite the Aug. 15 suicide of cast member Russell Armstrong.
A Bravo rep tells The Wrap that the season opener will be re-edited to address the suicide and plans to air public service announcements during the episode to raise suicide prevention awareness.
“Our thoughts continue to be with the Armstrong family during this difficult time,” Bravo’s Frances Berwick said.
Armstrong was found dead on Aug. 15. Police quickly ruled his death a suicide by hanging. He was reportedly suffering financial and legal problems and wife Taylor Armstrong had filed for divorce just a month before his death.
On Tuesday, Bravo also announced it would address the suicide in a yet-to-be-taped special.
