By now, you’ve probably heard the story: Bristol Palin was riding the mechanical bull at famed West Hollywood bar Saddle Ranch when an unpleasant stranger named Stephen Hanks called her mother an unpleasant word.
Okay, we’ll say it. The guy called the former governor of Alaska a whore. It wasn’t nice.
In turn, Bristol asked him, “Is it because you’re a homosexual? And that’s why you hate her? Because I can tell you are. That’s your big boyfriend right there.”
This was all caught on camera, by the way, because that’s how we roll in 2011.
When Palin’s comments hit the media, she was accused of homophobia, since the man’s sexual orientation was irrelevant to the unsavory comments he made about her mother.
On Friday morning, Bristol took to Facebook to air her grievances. “Always amazes me how evil people can be,” she status-updated. When her Facebook pals voiced their agreement, she added, “Thank you guys so much for the support!!!! I cannot believe how liberal puke’s are turning this into something it is not.”
Her rep issued a statement to TMZ. “[Bristol] was approached in a confrontational and inappropriate manner when two
men aggressively shouted expletives aimed at her in reference to her
mother. Bristol responded to the unprovoked verbal assault by calmly
standing her ground and defending her family.”
If that’s what you want to call it.
Watch the confrontation below, or wait to see it air on her new reality series. Yep. That’s happening.
