Kate Winslet may have pulled a Taylor Swift while accepting her Emmy Award on Sunday Night for “Mildred Pierce” — nobody believes your whole “I didn’t think we were going to win anything” shtick when you’re Kate Winslet — but we were still thrilled that she won.
First of all, “Mildred Pierce” was fantastic, and we love Kate, because everybody loves Kate.
But more importantly, this brings her just one step away from that elusive EGOT title. She now has her Emmy to join her Grammy and her Oscar, leaving only the Tony Award just out of reach.
Yes, Kate Winslet has a Grammy. (We thought it was weird, too.) In 2000, Kate took home a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for Children, for “Listen To the Storyteller.” She won an Oscar in 2008 for “The Reader.”
Someone get this woman on Broadway, and quickly.
