Madonna isn’t letting early negative response of her directorial effort, “W.E.” keep her down. After all, she always has her music to fall back on.
Currently attending the Venice Film Festival, Madonna, 53, tells Sweden’s Sveriges Television that her first album since 2008’s “Hard Candy” will be released next spring. Fans can expect the first single around February or March.
Work in the recording studio began on the 4th of July and will continue through the rest of 2011 in New York. The STV interviewer also mentions that she will be working again with producer William Orbit who collaborated heavily with the pop star over a decade ago for 1998’s “Ray of Light.”
Hopefully, the taint of her film — starring Abbie Cornish, Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy and detailing England’s King Edward VIII‘s abdication from the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson — won’t dampen fans anticipation of the album. “W.E.” comes to theaters this December.
