“The Biggest Loser” is back and not only are they throwing in an age twist, but there are two new trainers in the house. Zap2it interviewed the only “old” trainer, Bob Harper, about the newest season.
What is the dynamic with the new trainers like?
“Change is always a hard thing for me but I think that the new trainers bring a different perspective to our show. Anna is a world class athlete and she can teach her contestants the drive of an athlete.”
How do you think the age separation will affect the show? Do the younger folks have an upper hand in the physical challenges?
“I think with age comes wisdom, so don’t assume that the young people have the advantage because of their age. We are about to put that stigma to the test.”
Was there a particular age group you hoped would pick you as a trainer?
“I was excited to get back to work this season and was willing to take any of the age groups. I’m always seeing what I can learn from the contestants so I believe that any of the groups will be a learning lesson for me.”
Is there one particular contestant you think we should look out for, for whatever reason?
“Our biggest guy, Antone, was a professional football player that
completely let himself go. I think that his story is so riveting. You
will see him in the first episode be so open, exposed, and vulnerable,
which is what you need to succeed on our show.”
“The Biggest Loser” premieres Tuesday night, Sept. 20, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
