Steve Jones has been working on “The X Factor” for several months now, and he’s more than ready to turn it over to the public.
“I just want more people to see it,” Jones said last week at the FOX show’s premiere, where an audience got a taste of parts of the first two episodes. “The reaction in there was great — it was what we were hoping for. So that on a big scale makes me very, very excited.”
The premiere was the first time Jones had seen a finished cut of the show, and he says it was “awesome, absolutely awesome.”
“There’s been a lot of buzz about the show for an eternity,” he says. “But there was definitely an air before [the screening] in the theater of people thinking, ‘OK, we’ve heard the buzz. Now show us what you’ve got.’ I think we delivered, in my humble opinion. I think it was a little bit special.
You’ll get to judge for yourself when “The X Factor” premieres at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday (Sept. 21) on FOX. In the meantime, hit play up above for more from Jones on hosting the show, moving from the U.K. to the U.S. and the budding rivalry between “X Factor” creator and judge Simon Cowell and fellow judge L.A. Reid.
