Legend has it that Kate Middleton, commoner, landed herself a prince when — in 2002 she wore a sheer dress designed by a fellow St. Andrews student in a school fashion show. The moment, according to psychiatrist Carole Lieberman, made all the difference for Kate. And, says Lieberman, copying Kate could land any woman her own prince.
But, advises Lieberman, it isn’t just the sexy dress that captured William’s heart — and eye.
“We’ve been sold a bill of goods that it is just what’s inside that counts and it’s not true,” Lieberman tells Zap2it.
What Lieberman advocates is taking a few cues from bad girls — who aren’t afraid to bend the rules when it comes to snagging a man. She says that’s what Kate (who is a good girl while bum-flaunting sister Pippa is apparently not) did.
So, how exactly can one emulate Kate this Halloween?
>> First, the dress: Although Lieberman sells replicas of the Charlotte Todd-designed dress on her website for $129 a pop, any provocative, “conversation starting” outfit will do.
>>Pay attention to your looks: According to Lieberman, Middleton reinvented herself between high school and college, losing weight and “learning how to put herself together better.”
>> Strategize: Lieberman says Middleton knew Prince William would be attending the fashion show and planned accordingly.
>> Personality: Kate showed Wills that she was adventurous. What other conclusion could he possibly draw when she walked a runway wearing nothing but black undies and a bra under a sheer scarf?
