Pretty much everyone stepped up their game on “Dancing With the Stars” Monday (Oct. 3) — but the early favorites stayed a cut above the rest of the field.
The three top performers so far — Ricki Lake, J.R. Martinez and Chynna Phillips — all solidified their positions as the ones to beat. All three of them scored at least two 9s with their routines Monday.
At the other end of the spectrum, Chaz Bono was once again at the bottom of the judges’ scoreboard. His rumba with Lacey Schwimmer was the only performance of the night not to score at least 20; his 18 put him three points behind Nancy Grace.
Let’s start with the good. Here’s Lake’s rumba with Derek Hough, which earned 9s from all three judges and was Monday’s high score:
Phillips and Martinez each scored 26 for their rumbas (with Chynna dancing to her own song, Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On”). Do you think one was better than the other? Take a look:
Finally, here’s Bono’s performance from the rumba-rific evening, performed to his dad Sonny Bono’s solo hit “Laugh at Me.”
