It’s the battle of the pop divas! Word has it that both Lady Gaga and Madonna were in the running to headline the big Super Bowl halftime show this winter, but that the NFL has chosen Madonna.
“When Madonna heard Gaga was in the frame, she knew she had to step up her efforts,” reports the Daily Mirror. “She is going to deliver the kind of show never before seen in NFL history.”
For their part, the NFL refused to acknowledge the report. “We do not comment on musical talent until we have something to announce.” The big game will be held Feb. 5, 2012 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
What do you think of a potential Madonna halftime show? Could it possibly be as awesome as the 2001 halftime show?
