Congrats, “Ringer” fans! Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s show has just become the first new CW show to be picked up for a full 22 episodes. In fact, it’s the first fall drama on all the networks to get its back-nine order — otherwise, only comedies “Whitney,” “Up All Night,” and “New Girl” have been extended to full seasons.
Though “Ringer’s” ratings seemed to be on a downward trend, this week’s high-stakes episode drew more viewers now that Bridget (Gellar) revealed to a friend that she’s impersonating her sister Siobhan. The episode’s startling cliffhanger ending added some much-needed tension to the show.
We’re expecting to hear good news about the back nine episodes of The CW’s “Secret Circle,” too, as its ratings have been considerably better than “Ringer’s” in a comparably competitive time slot. The jury is still out on Rachel Bilson’s charming Monday night dramedy “Hart of Dixie,” which has maintained steady, but not stellar, ratings.
