Dance fans rejoice: “So You Think You Can Dance” has been picked up for a 9th season. The news came in a press release from FOX on Thursday, Oct. 6.
“For the past eight seasons, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ has been a huge part of our success,” said Mike Darnell, president of Alternative Entertainment at FOX. “We are excited to bring the series and an incredible set of new dancers back for another fantastic season.”
The show was created by “American Idol” executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller. Although it wasn’t included in the announcement, we assume Lythgoe will be back behind the judges’ table, along with over-the-top ballroom expert Mary Murphy.
Also not mentioned, perennial host Cat Deeley.
But, according to the release, audition information will be coming soon. Stay tuned.
