We’re going to go ahead predict that Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and most of his band of zombie-pocalypse survivors will make it through their latest jams. Why? Because on Tuesday (Oct. 25), AMC announced that “The Walking Dead” has been renewed for a third season.
“Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew ‘The Walking Dead’ for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s president, in a statement.
The show’s first season — just six episodes — was a runaway hit. Season 2, which kicked off on Oct. 16, boasts twice the number of episodes, an expanded cast and an increasingly devoted fan base. More than 7.5 million viewers tuned in for the season 2 premiere.
