You just can’t beat the classics. Forget the army of Snookis or Zach Galifianki (that’s plural for a bunch of people dressed up like “The Hangover“), the most popular costume this Halloween is traditional witch.
According to the National Retail Federation, over 13% of adults with their costumes planned out have opted for the old stalwart. Witch came in second place among kids, right behind princess. Spider-Man took third amongst the kiddies and pirates finished fourth.
Climbing the costume charts is zombie, presumably due to the its rising popularity in pop culture. Zombie hits at fourth place for adults and ninth place for children; we shudder at the thought of tiny child zombies. Creepy.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, hot dog landed third on the list of popular pet costumes. We’re glad that zombie did NOT make that list.
