Singing sensation Adele recently had to cancel the rest of her North American tour, plus several dates in the United Kingdom, due to a vocal cord hemorrhage. The singer will have surgery in November to repair the damage. But she does not have throat cancer.
Once the decision was announced, rumors ran rampant on Twitter about the British singer possibly having throat cancer. Her rep tells People, “We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for
a hemorrhaged vocal chord (sic). All reports regarding any other condition are 100% false.”
Adele has posted on her official site that “a full recovery is expected. As a result, doctors have ordered her to
rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any
She also blogs, “i will be back and im gonna smash the ball out the park once im touring
again. i apologise from the bottom of my heart, sincerely i do. i know
its not only disappointing because of the show, but its plane tickets,
hotel bookings, birthdays, anniversaries and time wasted. but please
have faith in me that this is the only thing i can do to make sure i can
always sing and always make music for you to the best of my ability.
truly yours and yours only forever, adele xx”
