Indian movie star Aishwarya Rai, a one-time Miss World who went on to become a Bollywood mega-star, has reportedly checked into an Indian hospital to give birth to her first child.
The Times of India reports that Rai was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital in Marol, Andheri on Monday (Nov. 14) and that a crowd of well-wishers soon gathered outside.
“There was tighter than usual security on Tuesday and a crowd had assembled outside the hospital to get news of the junior-most Bachchan’s arrival,” a source told the Times.
Rai has starred in a handful of English-language films, including 2004’s “Bride & Prejudice” and “The Pink Panther 2.” She’s married to fellow Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan. The couple married in 2007 in a traditional Hindu wedding.
In June, Rai’s father-in-law blogged about her pregnancy, revealing that she was due in November 2011.
