We still don’t know when “Cougar Town” will debut on ABC in 2012, but thanks to the show’s creators, people will have an opportunity to see episodes from the new season in the next few weeks.
Creators Kevin Biegel and Bill Lawrence are embarking on what’s essentially a road-show tour for the show, setting up “Cougar Town” viewing parties in Atlanta, Louisville, Ky., and Sarasota, Fla., on Dec. 27. More screenings are tentatively scheduled for New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Phoenix, Austin, San Francisco, San Diego, Philadelphia and somewhere in Connecticut in January. (UPDATE: The Dec. 27 events have sold out.)
Lawrence announced the viewing parties via Twitter on Monday (Dec. 19) and gave out e-mail addresses for information on the Dec. 27 locations. The tour isn’t connected to ABC — the “Cougar Town” crew is organizing the screenings on its own to keep up interest in the still-unscheduled show.
Lawrence says a cast member and a writer for “Cougar Town” will be present at each event, where fans will get to see new episodes, win show-related swag and possibly take part in a Penny Can tournament. Lawrence says he’ll announce information for some of the other cities in the road show on Friday.
