The holiday season is the busiest shopping time of the year. It’s also the busiest shipping time of the year. So when video of a computer monitor-throwing FedEx deliveryman hit the Internet, consumers were certainly concerned about their fragile packages.
Well, FedEx has quickly responded to the uproar. On Twitter the shipping firm writes, “We saw the video and quite frankly were shocked. This was careless treatment of a customer package by our courier and will be addressed. We take pride in the quality of service we provide to millions of customers daily. We will not tolerate any irresponsible act that affects the quality of any item we deliver. Such irresponsibility is contrary to the good reputation FedEx is known for worldwide.” They also added that they’ve since resolved the situation with the customer.
The situation was brought to light when the intended recipient of the package posted the video of the hurling on YouTube. In just two days, it received more than 2.6 million hits.
The poster, who goes by the name Goobie55 writes, “The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate.”
