Are you glad you did “Survivor,” was it everything you hoped it would be?
“Yeah, man. I really enjoyed my experience being on this season. It was more than what I thought it was going to be. It’d definitely been cool, everyone’s been real great. I made a lot of good friends. It’s just awesome to be a part of the ‘Survivor’ family now.”
During the last tribal council, you looked so shocked when Sophie revealed Coach found the Idol before you thought he did. How did that make you feel?
“I’m so used to it now, having that disappointment. I’m ready now for somebody to jump out and say, ‘I stabbed you in the back.’ It’s kind of an every-episode occurrence now, but that was a little bit different. It was a little bit unnecessary. [Coach] didn’t have to do that, but yeah, it wasn’t too shocking.”
Do you feel like people used the religion angle to their advantage even if they weren’t particularly religious?
“Yeah. It’s unfortunate, but yeah. People will do anything to get further into the game. They really don’t care what it took to get that far despite the fact that I have strong beliefs in Christ and some people took advantage of that. That’s completely fine. It’s ‘Survivor.’ I took myself out of the game as I was playing it and I should’ve just kept my head in the game. I wasn’t playing with saints, I was playing with people that need that money.”
Do you think if somebody had said in Upolu, ‘I’m not religious, I don’t feel comfortable praying’ that it would’ve been harder for them in the tribe?
“No, I think it’s completely cool that somebody didn’t want to do it. Nobody was gonna judge ’em or anything like that. But we didn’t pray constantly like it was an all-day occurrence. We prayed if we were going to sit down and break a coconut open, stuff like that. But I don’t think they would’ve had a hard time at all. Edna, she wasn’t always down for it and she wasn’t treated any differently. Sophie wasn’t always down for it and she won, so I don’t think it messed up anybody’s chances.”
Who got your vote and why?
“I gave my vote to Sophie. The reason being is because she played the most straight-up game to me. She didn’t tell me she was going to do this or that. She won challenges, she was a threat in challenges. She outlasted, she went all the way. Strategically, she did what she had to do. All around she was a great player. On top of that, it was a bitter vote, to be completely honest with you. I was upset about what Coach did to me and I just didn’t want to vote for him.”
Would you go back on Survivor if asked?
“I will. You’ll see me again. It’s gonna be different next time. Without saying too much about what I would do, I definitely would go to play ‘Survivor.’ I did what I had to do, I didn’t have to go out and try to change the family name, I just had to be me. Next time I go out, I’m going to have an opportunity to show everybody who I am. Instead of fighting for nothing, I’m going to just be me.”
Any messages to your fans?
“I really appreciate all my fans and friends out there that support me. I thank you for being there when I didn’t have nobody there for me. I appreciate you all, I love you all. I tried my best and I did my best and we’ll see what happens next time.”
