Like most celebrity news trackers, we’ve been struggling to make sense of the whole Kardashian thing for years now. We keep coming up with this equation: Cleavage + NBA players + reality cameras = ratings win. But we’ve been unable to get at the organic side of the whole thing. You know — why does the equation work?
Luckily “Absolutely Fabulous” — the laugh out loud funny BBC show that just returned to TV for a third run — has figured out the Kardashian klan and, in the clip above, the shows main characters — Patsy (Joanna Lumley) and Edina (Jennifer Saunders) explain why we can’t seem to escape them.
This is essential viewing for anyone who, like us, just doesn’t get it.
“There’s a new disease called the Kardashians, darling,” says Edina in the 30 second clip.
“They spread like herpes, each one with its own reality show,” replies Patsy. “They’re multiplying like head lice.”
“Look at the fat one at the end,” says Edina. “Very soon she will split like an amoeba and become two Kardashians.”
Yes, they totally went there.
