Valentine’s Day just got a little happier: “Cougar Town” will begin its third season on ABC on Feb. 14.
The series will debut at 8:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, Feb. 14, taking over the timeslot formerly occupied by “Work It,” which was sacked last week after just two airings. It was widely assumed that “Cougar Town” would move into the time period, and ABC made it official Tuesday (Jan. 17).
Creators Kevin Biegel and Bill Lawrence, along with the cast and other writers, have been hosting viewing parties in multiple cities to drum up interest in Season 3. Lawrence said last week that they plan to continue the parties as scheduled once a premiere date is announced: “We’ll keep doing [them] because it’s our window and our opportunity,” he told Zap2it.
Reruns of “Last Man Standing” are filling the 8:30 p.m. Tuesday slot for the rest of January. ABC hasn’t said yet what will run there on Feb. 7.
By the way, we’ve seen the first episode of “Cougar Town’s” new season, and the Valentine’s Day premiere date strikes us as very appropriate.
