ellen barkin twitter eb Ellen Barkin: Not shoved to the ground by cops, just witnessed questionable conductDespite reports saying Ellen Barkin was shoved to the ground by police while walking home in New York City on New Year’s Eve, the actress and prolific tweeter clarified her comments on Twitter, saying she simply got caught in the middle of what she thought was repugnant conduct by cops.

On New Year’s Eve, Barkin observed the arrests of people she said were not protesting anything, but merely standing in the streets or heading home after their NYE celebrations. “Walking home…13th & 6th, police making random arrests of non
protesters.Young girl in police van screaming’I’m just trying 2 get
home,'” she tweeted.
“Just threatened on my street by NYPD,cop shoved me,both hands, onto
sidewalk..Is it a crime 2 stand in the street in NY?WTF is going on
here?,” she wrote later.
She eventually clarified her comments, saying, “I never said I was pushed 2 the ground.I found myself in the middle of random arrests & tried to help.”
Barkin continued talking about the incident, however, tweeting about her disdain for Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration. She writes, “F— all of u,Bloomberg & every1 goose-stepping behind u.I cannot
believe what I am seeing.U protect nothing.U ARE the violence in my city.”
