The Grammy Awards will have a host for the first time in seven years, and CBS kept it in the family in hiring that person.
Two-time Grammy winner and “NCIS: Los Angeles” star LL Cool J will serve as host for the 54th annual awards, which will air Sunday, Feb. 12 on CBS. The show has gone host-less since 2005 (Queen Latifah had the honors then).
“I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards, and now to be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true,” LL says.
LL Cool J has hosted the Grammy nominations concert special since 2008. His two Grammy wins, both for best rap solo performance, came in 1991 (“Mama Said Knock You Out”) and 1996 (“Hey Lover”).
Scheduled performers at the Grammys include the Foo Fighters, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars.
