We might not be getting “Bridesmaids 2” anytime soon, but The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will get us a little closer when the “Bridesmaids” cast reunites to present an award at the Oscars on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The stars of the ensemble film — including Rose Byrne, Maya Rudolph, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ellie Kemper and Oscar nominees Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy — will make their first Oscar show appearances at the 83rd Academy Awards.
Brian Grazer and Don Mischer are producing the ceremony after Brett Ratner dropped out when he caught flak for using a homophobic slur. Previous host Eddie Murphy, star of Ratner’s “Tower Heist,” left too, paving the way for Billy Crystal to make his ninth appearance as telecast host.
McCarthy is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her scene-stealing turn, while Wiig and co-writer Annie Mumolo are nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
