It’s particularly impressive given the fact that the film cost just $12 million and opened on Super Bowl weekend, which is typically slow at the theaters.

Daniel Radcliffe’s first film after the “Harry Potter” franchise also scored a win. At No. 2, horror movie “Woman in Black” was the best-ever opening for CBS Films.

At No. 3 was “The Grey,” putting Drew Barrymore’s environmental whale film “Big Miracle” at No. 4 on its opening weekend. Well-received by audiences, the film grossed $8.5 million for Universal. In at No. 5 was “Underworld: Awakening,” grossing $5.6 million and bringing its total to $54.3 million.
