“Cougar Town” has featured one of television’s best bromances over the past couple years, as Andy (Ian Gomez) and Bobby (Brian Van Holt) have found ever more ways to express their affection.
That sometimes leaves Andy’s wife, Ellie, on the outside. But Christa Miller, who plays the acerbic character on the show, says Ellie has come to terms with it.
“I think [Ellie] thinks it’s funny,” Miller tells Zap2it in the video at the top of the post, noting that her husband, “Cougar Town” co-creator Bill Lawrence, tends to write bromances into his shows. “I don’t think it really bothers me — although Bobby gets on my nerves because I think he’s a dummy.”
So who loves whom more? “I think Andy loves Bobby more than Bobby loves Andy, because Andy looks up to Bobby. There’s that hero worship,” Gomez says.
On the other hand, “Bobby needs Andy,” Van Holt says. “He loves him very dearly, but Bobby would be lost without Andy, that’s for sure. He loves me, I need him.”
Aww. Hit play on the video for Miller and Gomez also discussing their Ellie and Andy’s son Stan, who, in their words, is a “devil child” in Season 3. “Cougar Town” premieres at 8:30 p.m. ET Tuesday (Feb. 14) on ABC.
